Italy
dominate the
morning of
the first
day of
competitions

This morning the
city of Zandvoorde in Belgium began with the
European Championship 2009 of Speed Skating.
This first day of
races began at 09.30 h. with the test of 300
meters Time Trial where only the twelve first
times would be in the final of this afternoon.
In the
competitions of Cadet Ladies the classified were
Carlotta Simbula and Alisa Gutermuth who were
the two first. With them will run in the final
too: Tamara Schmitt, Vera Iglesias, Daria
Tiberto, Marie Poidevin, Chiara Mair, Polixeni
Zissis, Marta Bonadonna, Nerea Nuño and Ysia
Clausses.
In Cadet Men,
Giacomo Airaghi, Matthias Voste, Alexandre
Guyomard, Valeriano Notarangelo, Mattia
Diamante, Yannick Friedli, Simon Albrecht, Lucas
Mesdom, Ewout Nijboer, Nel Sanz, Timo Kieslich,
Marcel Wolf are the skaters who will be final. |

In the category of
Junior Ladies Italy dominated in the heats.
Giulia Bongiorno, Laethisia Schimek, Saray
Narváez, Chiara Pignat, Catherine Dupouy, Manon
Kamminga, Chiara Vio, Anke Vos, Katia Klein,
Mandy Groot, Inge van Gysel y Morgane Varin were
the best and will fight this afternoon to get
the gold medal.
In Junior Men,
Michael Locci, Antione Belzane, Jore van den
Bergue, Mauro Corselli, Jean Benjamín Pierre,
Diego Mancin, Niels Provoost, Nicolai Kjeldsen,
Martín Dias, Lars Scheenstra, David Alonso y
Marcio Costa were the classified.
After these
competitions was the turn for the Senior
category. In Ladies Italy continued being the
best and Erika Zanetti and Nicoletta Falcone
were the two first. After them were classified
Jana Gegner, Desiree Contenti, Stephanie Dreyer,
Elma de Vries, Bianca Roosenboom, Aurelie
Duchemin, Sheila Posada, Marta Nunes, Mareike
Thum y Aurora Schiro.
Around 13.30 h. it
began to rain and the test of Senior Men had to
be postponed even this afternoon.
