When only
lack one day for the Opening Ceremony of the World
Championship of Speed Skating of Gijón 2008, today was a
day filled with events.
In the
morning, from 10:00 h. It was celebrated the meeting of
the CIC, in the Hotel Tryp Rey Pelayo.
During all
the day the skaters who will participate on the World
Championship of Gijón, was getting ready for participate
in the competitions. Furthermore, at 13:00 h. in the
afternoon in the City Council had the presentation of the
World Championship, where was too the President of the
Spanish Real Federation of |

At 09:00
h. in the morning, the city of Gijón began with the
maximun test of the Speed Skating in the World
Championship 2008.
The firts
facilitie in being used is the track of Moreda, with the
competitions of
300
meters time trial, where the Junior
and Senior category are the protagonists.
In
Junior ladies, the Korean So Yeong Shin was the best time
followed by the Colombian, Carolina Magaña and the Korean
Yi Seul An. In the other hand, in men, the three best
times were for Pedro Causil of Colombia, his partner of
selection, Sebastian Arce, and the three position was for
the Korean, Bong Jui Choi.
After
the Junior category, was the turn for the skaters of
Senior ladies, where the grea skater of the United States,
Brittany Bowe got the first place in the clasification
whit her time, furthermore got the world-wide record in
this test. After she arrived the colombian, Jercy Puello
and then Sara Sayanase of United States.
In
men, the Korean Tae Kang was the first, followed by Wouter
Hebbrecht (Belgium) and Nicolas Pelloquin (France).
Now
they are being celebrated the
test of
15.000 meters elimination in Junior
ladies and men.
