- Bart Swings shones in the championship getting a gold and a bronze medal in the second day

In the morning, around 09:00 hours, the road of "Las Mestas" in Gijón continued with the races of the World Championship 2008.

During all the morning, were celebrated all the heats of 500meters Sprint for the Junior category, where only the two first skaters in each heat, could pass to the next round, and later to the final, with only 4 skaters.

After a rest for the lunch, Gijón continued with the test at 17:00 h., with the race of 20.000meters Elimination of Junior ladies. The korean, Seul Lee won the race and made a new world-wide record in this test. The silver

was for the German Mareike Thum and the bronze for Melisa Ramírez (Colombia).

In the other hand, in Junior men, the Belgium skater Bart Swings showed his force and for the gold, followed by the Italian skaters Riccardo Bugari and Andrea Andreotti.

After these long races, was the turn for the test of 500meters Sprint, for the Junior category. In the race of ladies, Colombia dominated and with Carolina Magalla got the gold. The silver was for the skater of Argentina Victoria Rodríguez and the bronze for the American Mariah Richardson. In the category of men, Colombia continued in the head of the clasification and got the gold and the silver with Pedro Causil and Sebastian Arce. The bronze was for the great Belgium skater Bart Swings.

After this test, the rain appeared in the city of Gijón and now it's being a rest for then continue with the finals of 10.000meters Points of Senior.
